On Sept. 28, 2011, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of Smart Jel gel fuel that impacted about 1,400 bottles of the product. Smart Jel was sold in 30-ounce plastic bottles online and through specialty stores between January 2011 and June 2011 for $10-$20.

The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the product. Under federal law, it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell Smart Solar’s Smart Jel gel fuel products that are affects by this recall.

The products affected by the recall are 30-ounce bottles of SmartJel Citronella Formula IPA Gel Refill with model number SJ3200 and 30-ounce bottles of SmartJel Unscented Formula IPA Gel Refill with model number SJ3201.
